I had extremely good feedback from the hundreds of people who participated in the Case Studies in SharePoint Dashboards presentation, but there were problems with VOIP audio and the distribution of login instructions for some that need to be addressed in future  sessions.

Due to problems with the audio for some who attended, I will be making the recording of the event available to all subscribers of the Weekly Newsletter. I normally would not do this, but there were a significant number of people who were affected by the audio glitch. I am working on encoding the screencast recording tonight and am targeting to have it available by the end of the week.

In some instances it sounds as if login instructions ended up in the spam bin. I had dozens of people emailing in a panic 10 minutes before the presentation. Next time, we’ll have login instructions directly on the screen after registration.

I was surprised to hear that some major corporations actually blocked the presentation. I’m not sure what to do about that one. It appears to be company IT policy that is at issue, so it might have to be handled on a case-by-case basis. In this particular case, everyone who registered for the presentation will have access to the recording, whether they were able to attend the session or not.

I have used GoToWebinar for other events and not had the problems that were encountered today with audio and login information. I have contacted support, they have responded and we are working to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

I received many encouraging emails after the presentation. Many were also interested in the resources I discussed… where can they get the LyteBox web part, where is Christophe’s explanation of putting HTML in calculated columns, how can I incorporated the Visual Status items in my lists.

I will be presenting a hands-on, online workshop on September 30 where participants will receive all the resources, all the links and a SharePoint sandbox to implement the techniques shown in the presentation. The official registration starts on Thursday, but now you know…

Finally, thank you to the hundreds of people who stayed with me during the first 10 minutes while we got the glitches ironed out. I am gratified to know it was a worthwhile session for those who attended.

If you are interested in the upcoming workshop, you can read comments from participants of today’s session to get a feel for the material.

GoToMeeting encountered an error this afternoon, just an FYI, both before and after your alotted time. I use this for my sessions as well and finally had to call them to see what the issue was. All they said was they were working on getting it fixed…and later today it was. :)

Thanks for getting that to us…I’m looking forward to viewing it!

I am so disappointed I could not access this one. I will look forward to the follow-up.

It was a great session. Online Sound would have been good, but I easily dialed (for a few cents per minute from europe) in and got the whole webinar with sound. Once again, Mark: That was great, thank you.

    This was extremely useful.

Look forward to reviewing the material again and to any future work on this topic.

One area which keeps coming up over and over for us is the ability to display multiple calendar data from a single page. I have not had time to figure out whether dashboards can fix this, but hope to get insights be reviewing the material.
Nobody else seems to have found a solution (without custom code) based on my web searching so far.

For now, we just stick to the standard nav links, but it would really help if we could show, say, the next 5 working day events from multiple calendars on one page. Even better, to show grouped for each day events from the different calendars.

Is it possible that a short page or session could be created on this some time in the future?

    Again, great work!
