Dessie and I were talking about the direction of his next series of articles on the calculated column. Here’s the roadmap for those of you who have been following along:

“I still have 12 functions I want to cover in the “Text and Data“ series (I’m trying to get to each and every function available), with three more targeted for the next post.

“I should be able to wrap up this section in 3 more posts (or that’s the plan at least).

“Next time I’ll be covering 3 functions (LOWER, PROPER, UPPER). The post following that will cover 5 functions (ASC, CLEAN, EXACT, REPT, T). The final post in the series will cover the remaining 4 functions (DOLLAR, FIXED, USDOLLAR, VALUE).

“This will obviously be a rather large eBook when completed, but will cover all functions available in the ‘Text and Data’ set.”

When Dessie refers to an eBook, he is talking about what we send to the Weekly Newsletter subscribers when a series is completed. All of the articles in this series will be wrapped up in an eBook and be available as a free download to subscribers.

If what Dessie describes above is of interest, subscribe to the Weekly Newsletter and you’ll get first access to it.

Love the articles and have learnt a lot from them. Sometimes when you think things are difficult and confusing it can be a simple thing that unlocks the potential.

Continue the series as I believe it would be a good reference guide to have, especailly for newbies to the SharePoint.

    I agree, most helpful!

I think a post about nested IF statements and CHOOSE would be very helpful. I receive many questions about this from my readers.

    Christophe,

Great suggestion…I’ll add it to my list.
