SharePoint 101 to the rescue: Help, I lost a web part!

Wanda emailed me in a panic this morning… something about working in a production environment and losing a web part along the way. She took the Fundamentals of SharePoint Dashboards online workshop last week and was in the process of implementing a solution to show visual indicators in WSS lists.

Let’s listen in to see what happened when I surprised her with a phone call.

As a side note, I normally move people over to the Stump the Panel: SharePoint Q&A Forum for these types of questions, but Wanda’s predicament is so common, I thought it would be good to share it with the community…

So PLEASE don’t email me now with all your SharePoint questions! Post it on Stump the Panel and if the problem is universal enough, we’ll move it over here. OK? Thanks for understanding.

Good job, Mark. Thanks for sharing the recording. It’s great to learn by listening to the two challenges she had and hear the solutions.

Thanks to Mark and the client for sharing the issue and call. It’s a scenario that came up today for one of my internal clients.
