Feedback: Become Your Company’s SharePoint Superstar!

Become Your Company’s SharePoint Superstar live, online workshop is completed. This was another sold out session, so I think we’ve found a nice niche for this type of content.

This space is for the participants to give their feedback on the workshop so that you can see if it will be worth your while to attend. These are unedited comments, so let’s see what they have to say.

I’d like to hear comments on the following:

  • How hard will it be to implement the solutions we provided
  • What was your favorite solution
  • Would you recommend this session to your SharePoint friends
  • Are you going to attend the second session

This was excellent and a great value! Thanks for offering a 2nd session – I was very disappointed that I couldn’t participate last week.

  2. Laura says:

Looks pretty easy to implement, but have to run by dev team to make sure that they’re ok with it. Love the calendar part, especially. If there’s a second session, I’ll be there.

  3. Paul,

it was excellent… it would take ages to develop some of the solutions you presented. Your solutions are easy to use, easy to deploy and provide great business value!

    Keep up the good work.

    Hi Mark,
I am the MOSS 2007 administrator.

Just checking to see what kind of free web parts I get with your workshop, and if we can use them on our University Web site.

We are looking for Calendar type WebPart.

It would look something like this:

    Events Calendar (read all)
    ————————————————————
02.14.2009 – Some headline, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…
Event here, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet econsecutir el et…
02.15.2009 – Some headline, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…
Event here, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet econsecutir el et…

    Specifics:
    * non tech person would add events into MOSS 2007
    * manager approves events to go live
    * 3-4 events listed at one time on the home page
    * arrow button link to display 3-4 more events
    * the “read all” link goes to a page that has all the calendar item listed
    * the “Event here” link goes to a page that has the event listed in more detail
    * all events would have a date
    * not all events would have a link
    * not all events would have any more details
    * events are sorted chronologically in both locations
    * events are no longer displayed after they expire
    * export all events so others can import a RSS feed

    Thank you,
    Greg

  5. Greg,

Thanks for thinking of us. The web parts that are provided as part of the workshop are more interface related than process related.

The calendar web part we provide will allow you to mouseover events in a calendar to display the metadata about the event without having to drill down to the event. We’ve also got other tricks for expanding and collapsing all groups in a list, creating an accordian Quick Launch bar, making the Gantt chart view actually usable… stuff like that.

Hope that helps. We sure would like to see you and your team for the session coming up this Friday, February 13.

    Mark

  6. Keith Withey says:

Great session, to the point, helpful and worth the time and money. As a busy administrator and programmer this gave me some tools to help our users and add usability to our sites. Thinking out of the box and a great intro to the power of JQuery!

    Easy to implement
Love the Meta Views and the Gantt
    Absolutely would recommend

  7. Drew says:

    Hi folks,

Is it possible to become a paying subscriber to the site and have access to the recorded sessions and tools that are presented in the live sessions. Being in Oz makes it hard to attend but I’d be willing to pay after the even to be able to learn and discover some of the great tools and resources that you folks do so brilliantly!

    Cheers

  8. Dan says:

I’m with you Drew.. It would be nice also if we could get a Work Subscription.. That way my employer can subscribe and the SP Team can all enjoy these work shops. (note that we only have 2 guys, but are always trying to cross train others.. And some workshops would be great for Comms and Marketing staff whom controll the intranet… Just not the workings :) )

  9. Drew and Dan – It’s on the way. Watch for an April announcement. — Mark
