In Office 2007 you can synchronize the list with your contacts. Unfortunately we don’t have Office 2007 so it is a bit trickier.
In Outlook, navigate to the contacts list:
In SharePoint from your contacts page:
Proceed to bulk import data. You may be able to work on multiple columns at one time but this depends on how similar your spreadsheet and list are.

I have been trying for months to copy around 2500 contact addresses from Outlook 2007 to the contact of SharePoint Server 2007, by drap and drop.
At >95% of the action, MS Outlook crashes. Then the copied contact adresses start to duplicate on SharePoint. If I don’t delete them, they will be around 5000 addresses in few days.
Have you any idea?
