Feedback: The Basics of Content Types, live online workshop

We have just completed another session of the Basics of Content Types live online workshop. This is an area for the participants to give me feedback and comments on the session.

The session began with an overview of what content types are and why they are useful. We then went into an extended hands-on section where everyone created content types and associated them with a Finance Report library, along with various document templates.

That’s the basics. Let’s see what they have to say…

Perfect session for Powerend users to understand the concept of content types and how to apply in SP!

My second live workshop with Mark and I was not dissapointed. It solidified my understanding of content types and why/how they are used. The workshop will help me in the argument where I’m advocating we abandon the continued bad practices of creating folders in SharePoint to duplicate what we have in our shared drives.

Great stuff, very interactive with the audience.

Great session which should be of immediate help to me as I need to structure the contents of a few document libraries.

So, thumbs up for another great session!

Great stuff on creating parent/child content types.

Great session! Even though I’m a bit more than a “power user”, I really learned a lot. There truly are no other training options out there for content type particulars.

  6. Good use of an hour and a half — straight to the point and lots of benefit.

Excellent information – clear, concise and USEFUL! Exactly the kind of base info I’ve been looking for. Will be able to apply this in our environment. Hoping I can express the multiple benefits of content types to our users and get them to stop using folders.
