Live Online Workshop: Random Solutions with the Content Editor Web Part

There is a lot of material going around that uses the Content Editor Web Part (CEWP) as its wrapper for displaying and managing the display of content in a SharePoint page. Paul Grenier, Christophe Humbert, Todd Bleeker and Iain Munro have provided great solutions that should be in eveyone’s toolbox of tricks.

In this live online workshop, Random Solutions with the Content Editor Web Part, we’ll examine some of those solutions and give you hands-on training on how to implement them in your WSS or MOSS environment.

Here’s some of the fun stuff we’ll be covering:

• Quote generator from a SharePoint list
  • Random quotes on page load
  • Quote of the day
  • Employee of the Day, picture and text
• Embed videos without hosting them
• Quick Launch Manager
  • Remove View All Content heading
  • Hide access to the recycle bin
  • Reclaim the entire quick launch space in calendars
• Display priority status with visual, colored icons
• Collapse text in a list with a multi-line text field
• Display a count down timer, with time left to a specific event

Each participant receives their own SharePoint sandbox to test out the solutions. Participation in this workshop includes access to an on-demand recording of the entire session, downloadable web parts for each of the solutions, and any resources used during the workshop.
