What if you could…? Random solutions with the CEWP

Update: Iain Munro from ContentEditorWebPart.com will be joining us and offering a custom solution built just for this workshop.

As I was putting together the Random Solutions with the Content Editor Web Part live online workshop, I started laughing, realizing I should have called it the “What if you could…?” workshop. Here’s a quick three minute screencast to give you an idea of what I’m talking about.

Embed code for this screencast

  • Restrict content to small area for scrolling
  • Embed a count down timer
  • Use F1 for context sensitive help
  • Put message of the day throughout a site collection
  • Reclaim the space where the Quick Launch Bar resides
  • Create a dropdown menu for cross Site Collection access
  • Celebrate with a fireworks display

Everything in the screencast is done in a Content Editor Web Part. I didn’t create some of the solutions. The credit there goes to Christophe Humbert, Iain Munro, Todd Bleeker, Shane Perran, Andy Schmidt and other resources I found on the web.

The workshop walks you through implementing the preconfigured web parts so that you can tweak them just for your environment. I had a blast putting this together and hope you’ll join us for the rollout of some really fun CEWP solutions.

I attended this workshop back in April and cannot find the documentation… I have the “press F1 for help” web part but can’t make it work. Was there a text file that accompanied this?

I am not remembering how to configure the code away from the example provided. Can you help?
