Feedback: Become Your Company’s SharePoint SuperStar!
Original Publication Date: Tuesday, April 28, 2009
SharePoint User Level: General Interest
Today’s live online session of Become Your Company’s SharePoint SuperStar! has completed. This is the feedback area for the workshop. The things covered included:
- Control the Quick Launch display… tweak, collapse and hide
- Expand and contract all groups in a list
- Create a preview pane to display metadata on a mouseover
- Fix the Gantt view so that it’s actually usable
- Setup mouseovers in a calendar to expose event information
- Display deep metadata in a list or library with a simple mouseover
Each of the solutions is provided as a drap and drop web part that needs no coding or configuration.
Let’s see what the participants have to say…
Excellent class! I paid for this out of my own pocket and am very glad I did. Awesome content and instruction!
This is the best use of my time and money that I have realized since beginning the sharepoint journey. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to increase their sharepoint knowledge and their end user experience.
Kudos on a great session!
Mark and Paul,
It was a great session and I have been following endusersharepoint.com for a month now and thanks to you and all the moderators I have learned a lot. I implemented some charts using Paul’s article last night and I think it has very high HS factor for people using WSS – suggest that also make it part of this series.
I will definitely recommend this to my friends and collegues and you will see me on some more webcast too.
P.S. I paid out my pocket and was worth every penny.

It was a great learning experience and I’m glad I paid for it. I learned some great ‘WOW’ things that I will be using on our sites. Since finding endusersharepoint.com, I have been using some of the information on the site. Keep up the great work! I check it out every day and have shared the information with other DOD SharePoint Administrators. I wish I could attend the ‘Train the Trainer Series’.

I’m starting to have an issue with the ‘Preview Pane’. The words ‘Preview Pane’ are no longer on any of my sites. I still have the ‘icons’. Hope someone can help.
@Frank,
Sounds like the web part has the Chroming turned off. Check the appearance section of the settings tab.
It was a simple fix. I changed the ‘Chrome Type’ to ‘Title Only’ and the words are there. Thank you.
Dear Mark,
Sorry for the late response.
The workshop was great, it fully lived up to my expectations – and then some.
Everything was great, from the teaching, the humor to the way you have made the material available after the class.
I have showed my newly learned skills to some of my collagues, and they are very impressed.
Once again thank you from one happy customer in Denmark.
Best,
Frederik
