30 Minute Screencast: MindManager Templates for SharePoint Site Planning

I gave a talk on my MindManager Templates for SharePoint Site Planning at the Microsoft building in New York City yesterday. I recorded the entire session. This will give you a pretty good idea of how the templates are structured and how you might consider using them.

    Morning Mark,

I’ve recently started using the TeamSite MindMap templates in earnest. I’m finding they help me document a site pretty quickly.

I was just checking if there had been any updates on the template because of some issues I’m about to get into.

Thought I’d drop you a line to see if you’d any thoughts on the following before I progress much further (OK, basically I’m picking your ‘mind manager brain’ because you’ve been at this longer than me! )

Lists: I’d like to store the formulas for calculated fields and, probably, also the list structure and field types too. I guess its fairly logical to create a ‘List field Settings’ subtopic alongside ‘List Versioning Settings’ & ‘List Advanced Settings’. Would that be how you might do this?

Site Webparts: We all seem to be using increasing amounts of jQuery scripts! Any thoughts on where you might document them using the template?

    Regards,

    Mick

Is there a way to show broken inheritence using this template.

    John

  3. John – It’s wide open on what you can do. You might put a special icon in the topic that signifies broken inheritence. You might have a custom field that shows it. Choose a method that makes sense to you and be consistant when you apply it to the template. — Mark
