3 Minute Screencast: Project Management Auto-Notification Workflow

Laura Rogers has developed a workflow solution for automatic notification during various stages of a project. As each phase concludes, emails are automatically generated to appropriate parties. There is also task tracking notifications, two days before a task is due and one week past the due date if the task has not been completed. The screencast is a quick walk-through of the final solution.

Laura’s solution is part of the live online Workflow Solutions Workshop series. The next live online session is June 5 at 1:00pm EST.

    Laura,

    I was wondering what the SharePoint site was that you are using as your starting point? Is this a provided template or something that you created? I like the idea of seeing multiple projects and then being able to click on one to see the associated tasks. Also would be great if an individual could see all of the tasks that they have assigned across multiple projects. Any info you can share on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    @Scott G.
    The site she was using look like a custom site created for a project management application. When she was clicking on an item and filtering the tasks, Laura was using “Web Part Connections” This feature is built into sharepoint and you can create many different lists filtering many other lists. Search online for Web Part Connections and I think you’ll find what you saw in this demo.

    Cheers,
    Matt
