Bullet Proof Ways to Increase End User Buy-in: Analytics
I am putting together a presentation called “5 Absolutely Bullet Proof Ways to Increase End User Buy-in“. As my research is progressing, it becomes more and more apparent that what we perceive as a SharePoint problem, is really a universally recognized marketing issue. Why will people use your site?
There is a theory of web site analytics driven by Avinash Kaushik that I’ve been following for the past few months. His book, Web Analytics: An Hour a Day, is at the the top of my reading stack on the nightstand. It’s a fascinating read. For such a dry subject his style of writing is engaging and thought provoking.
In this 4 minute video, Avinash goes head to head with Nick Mihailovski, Google Developer Programs manager, on the usefulness and real world application of the analysis Avinash can produce through his analysis.
The take away for me is: not “how do you measure conversions” but “what do you do with that measurement”. How will you change your site based upon the information you are gleaning from your analysis? If you enjoy this type of discussion, follow Jeff Gillis on the Google Analytics Blog.
I will be doing a live, online workshop in September on how to increase End User buy-in of your SharePoint implementation. Use the form beneath the video to register for advanced notification when the workshop is scheduled.
