SharePoint’s Branding Limitations

I think anyone in the SharePoint branding business will agree that Heather Solomon holds the “Queen of Theme” crown. (Thanks to Matt Passannante for that little moniker). However, a serious contender is arising with Diantha van Marion’s series on SharePointMagazine.net.

In a remarkable series of extremely well written articles, Diantha has started a comprehensive breakdown of the CSS model driving the interface of SharePoint pages. If you are a designer, responsible for handling the branding of your site, it’s time to close the door, turn off twitter, get the coffee pot going and dig in.

Five stars. Highest rating.

I’ve been a long term casual follower of Diantha at her TamTam blog. She’s got lots of valuable comments there and sometimes they’re deeper rooted in the browser/html/css/javascript standards than Heather’s.
