SharePoint Train the Trainer: Q&A
Registration for the live online Train the Trainer Series is going well. I’ve been getting a few repeat questions about the series, so I thought I’d handle them here to spread the word a little easier.
> Will you cover best practices and My Site?
Definitely best practices, but not My Sites. My Sites have very specific uses with different companies, plus you have to be running MOSS, so it is hard to generalize. However, we will be covering, in depth, ways to create your own content and your internal My Sites might be something you concentrate on.
> What types of resources are included (i.e. ppt slides, on-line simulations)?
You will receive PowerPoint decks that you can use immediately for presenting material to your in-house SharePoint Information Workers. There is a also a template for you to create and customize your own content. The first hour of each session is a discussion of different theories of presenting information to adults, looking at various learning styles and methods of delivery. Each session is recorded. You will have unlimited access the recordings for three months after the workshop series.
> Do you have a discount for multiple participants from the same company?
I don’t have a group discount for this series. I want to make sure that anyone, whether it’s one person or ten people, who has a need can afford to attend even if their company isn’t going to pay for it, so I priced the series accordingly.
I created this series for small to medium sized companies who need SharePoint Information Worker training but can’t afford to bring in the standup, in person training companies. At the conclusion of this series, you’ll have enough material and understanding of the training process, to do live presentations of basic Information Worker training for your in-house staff.
You can read the details and then register for the five part series by going to the EndUserSharePoint.com Train the Trainer Series information page.
Do I need access to a MOSS server, Central Administration or access to the 12 hive during the class?
What type of Moss Environment will we need? VM or a hosted WSS 3.0 site?
How will you be streaming to us?
Don,
In the live online workshops, we provide the environment, so you won’t have to worry about it. We deliver the content live over WebEx and you work inside the SharePoint sandbox we provide.
Hope to see you there.

Just an FYI that Sept. 28th is Yom Kippur for the Jews among this crowd…
Yep, I realized that when I set it up, my wife told me. I figured if there were enough “Jews among this crowd”, I’d do another Train the Trainer Series very soon. — Mark
