SharePoint Saturday is Coming to Michigan!
A note from Mark Miller: I just received an email from Peter Serzo, coordinator of SharePoint Saturday Michigan. I’m a huge supporter of SharePoint Saturday and speak as often as I can. Peter has been trying to get me to fly in for the event on March 13th, but my travel schedule is absolutely hammered for the next two month.
Instead, though, I’m going to help him spread the word to see if we can pack his event. Read what he has to say, take a look at the speaker list and sessions, and then if you’re anywhere near, go for it! All I ask, Peter, is that you pump some of this out as recorded content so that the entire SharePoint Community can benefit from your regional sessions.
If you haven’t participated in a SharePoint Saturday event before, this will be a great introduction to the free events and resources available to the SharePoint Community.
Good luck with your event, Peter.
Mark
From Peter Serzo:
SharePoint Saturday is coming to Michigan! It is taking place on 3/13/10.
Our keynote is being given by Rob Collie. He is a Microsoft Program Manager for PowerPivot. He also happens to live in Cleveland. Mark, this guy created PowerPivot! We are indeed lucky.
We have 3 MVPs (Ben Curry, Paul Schaeflein to name two), 3 or 4 well known book authors, a Microsoft Program manager for PowerPivot, and 4 enterprise companies, a member of the jQuery team (I thought you would be very interested in this!!!!), all talking, FOR FREE. In addition we have 4 Enterprise companies talking about their SharePoint implementations. It’s our customer to customer sessions (wow, imagine that end users talking to end users):
- 1. Ford
- 2. Borg Warner – Tier one auto supplier
- 3. Wolverine WorldWide
People would be crazy NOT to come.
I think your audience would be VERY interested in hearing especially about the customer sessions not to mention Ben, Mike Watson, Karl (jQuery team member with John Resig), ect.
Lastly, I am giving you some taste of how we treat our speakers in Detroit. As Kid Rock would say “There ain’t no Party like a Detroit Party.” (I am still partial to NYC!!!!!). We are taking our speakers by limo or party bus to a very high end suite at the Pistons game. Private elevator, private enterence. We have open bar, floor tickets and food for them!
We are going to talk this one up!
I know I will see you soon, Mark. Keep up the GREAT work!
Peter
