jQuery solutions are easy to find on the web. The real difficulty is how do you expose SharePoint data to the solutions. In this workshop, we’ll examine ways to expose site data to three very useful interface solutions.
Workshop Overview
The session begins with a look at some elegant jQuery solutions:
- Image slider, based on the jQuery Tools plugin
- News ticker (derived from the slider)
- Tooltip based on the jQuery Beauty Tips plugin
We’ll apply the methods learnt in the two previous workshops to identify the SharePoint content for display, and reformat it. The techniques used include grabbing list SharePoint list data using jQuery, rendering it via a free jQuery plugin, and then deploying the solution within your SharePoint site.
Who is this for?
This workshop is aimed at site administrators and power users who need to manage and display graphical information in their SharePoint site.
This is the third workshop in a three part series on using jQuery Starter Kit for SharePoint. It is recommended that you have some experience with jQuery before attempting the solutions in this workshop. This workshop expands upon the ideas presented in the two previous workshops of this series, but it is not necessary to have taken the previous two.
