Both take practice, and even if you are only good enough to play a local pee-wee club, does that mean you should give up? You can make a great a difference to a pee-wee club if you are its best goal maker/ if you are the only goal maker. The crowd will cheer regardless! You just need to jump in, and while it is true that talent will make you shine in both cases, don't discount how far desire can take you! Why, just being here to read this, already desire is taking hold! And if you never kick the ball….. you’ve got no chance of making the team. It doesn't tell how good each player is. And it doesn't tell how good they are as a team. That's what SharePoint lists are about. Lists, yes, but not just any flat list. Powerful lists with calculated columns, views, workflows, etc. And not individual lists, but lists that can work together via connections, lookups, workflows (again), etc. Well, you could also say that the German soccer team is just a bunch of people kicking a ball… It doesn’t tell how good each player is. I'm also a List-Maker, and I'd like to add List Beautifier, List Correcter, List Enhancer, List Contributor, List Decision Maker, and (finally?) List Enabler. What does all that really mean? To find that out, substitute the words "Business Process" for "List" in each of those monikers and you begin to get the idea. Suddenly, being a "List Maker" seems to require a lot more skill than many appreciate (including some SharePointers, as well). So often I find it hard to describe "what I do" without it sounding like mindless mouse-clicking that requires no skill. In my humble opinion though, its the people in the trenches who have intimate knowledge of business processes who can most effectively leverage SharePoint to improve those processes. So cheers from "lowly Site Collection Admins" everywhere! ~Tasha Kerri,

I think I'll add the term "List Maker" to my My Site profile. Thanks for the article and idea. I’m working on project that calls for the creation of several lists. This way you can experiment and no one's the wiser. I do this all the time with admins. Make personal views of important lists. Only the logged in user who created the view can see and use it.
