Was trying hard for a very long time to figure out why CQWP just refuses to show the page description. Your article gave me a clear idea why. Anyway, I have a 3rd method that works for me to solve this issue. Instead of changing the webpart xml, or changing the title/name of the "Comments" site column, I changed the Group of the "Comments" site column instead, and map "Description" in CQWP to "Comments[NewGroupName]" instead. IMO this should have less impact then changing the title of the site column. Thanks so much for this great article!
