SharePoint has to index content before it will show up in search. The index process is running on its own in the background. It wakes up periodically, looks for new content added since the last time it ran, indexes that new content and then goes to sleep. That's called an incremental crawl and that's why you see the 3 minute interval. Your indexer is probably crawling content every 5 minutes or so (which is a common incremental crawl period).

This is to say that when you upload a document, sharepoint doens't index it right away. That background process has to wake up and do its job before search will be aware of the document.

Does that explain what you're seeing?
ihmunro on "Difference between 2 dates excluding weekends" http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/difference-between-2-dates-excluding-weekends#post-6966 Fri, 22 May 2009 09:27:19 +0000 ihmunro 6966@http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/
Hi Dessie

Thanks

I changed the formula to the Start Time and End Time as per the Calendar Fields to:

=(DATEDIF([Start Time],[End Time],"d"))-INT(DATEDIF([Start Time],[End Time],"d")/7)*2-IF((WEEKDAY([Start Time])-WEEKDAY([Start Time]))<0,2,0)

This works good for days during the week, but the weekend is still wrong.

The count between 4/17 and 4/20 is 4 days, whereas it should be 2 days.

Any ideas?

Iain
Eric Truchon on "wiki list or site" http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/wiki-list-or-site#post-6965 Fri, 22 May 2009 08:49:07 +0000 Eric Truchon 6965@http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/
Hi,

See this EndUser : http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/best-way-to-create-a-wikipedia-type-site-or-page

Eric
