Not a solution but a workaround if you want to keep IE8.

Check http://sharepointapplied.com/2009/04/27/ie8-datasheet-issue-workaround/ for details.

Regards,
Greg Osimowicz
http://sharepointapplied.com
Toekiller on "IE8 and Sharepoint." http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/ie8-and-sharepoint#post-6701 Fri, 15 May 2009 05:44:11 +0000 Toekiller 6701@http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/
No IE7 works fine.

It has happened to others.

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointgeneral/thread/0f959cc3-3d2c-485f-9205-f8a913d44612

But as you say I at least need to install SP2.
eric on "IE8 and Sharepoint." http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/ie8-and-sharepoint#post-6542 Tue, 12 May 2009 09:42:15 +0000 eric 6542@http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/
IE8 support isn't official until service pack 2 is installed for WSS and MOSS. It could be that the service pack will resolve these issues. One is when you edit a Content Editor Webpart using either the source or Rich Text editor and click on ok, it takes an age to save and comes up with the error. 'This page took too long to save....'

The second is it's behaviour when working in a datasheet view. I can't resize the columns and also couldn't edit a yes/no flag field.

Anyone else? Suggestions? Fixes?
