So time to dive into SPD and make some mistakes
Toni on "Remove # of List items in collapsed view" http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/remove-of-list-items-in-collapsed-view#post-5487 Mon, 30 Mar 2009 06:24:44 +0000 Toni 5487@http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/
Yup it is easy :), but you need SharePoint Designer.

Check this screencast by Lee, and then apply the same principle to your view: http://www.endusersharepoint.com/?p=1470
John Gaylord on "Remove # of List items in collapsed view" http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/topic/remove-of-list-items-in-collapsed-view#post-5483 Sun, 29 Mar 2009 14:53:04 +0000 John Gaylord 5483@http://www.endusersharepoint.com/STP/
When a list is collapsed sharepoint puts a (x) next to the name (in this case) showing the number of items listed under that name. The problem is I have people mistakenly using that number rather then expanding the list and getting the correct number they need.

I've told them over and over to click then check for the total they are looking for but it continues to happen. Is there a way to remove that function off the view? If it's painless I'd rather just fix the view then keep trying to educate.
