Alerts at the Site Level

    Does anyone know of a way to create alerts at the site level without painstakingly setting them up for each individual web part?

    I'm only seen an "alerts manager" type 3rd-party solution. I agree, alerts are a royal pain in the... as a result, I've resorted to using workflow email for many of my "auto-pester" rules on lists.
