when i set up an alert on a topic in my discussion board it sent out links when something was adder or changed - great, but that link couldnt be opened in outlook and didnt display a link, just info regarding to the topic, not so good if users dont know where this is, any way of sending out an intelligent link that can direct you to the relevant area?

@skillmaster: Are you sure the link isn't there? Did you try accessing the title in the body of the alert?

I've seen some alerts only send a link to the folder or library of the data source. I normally only see this when an alert has compiled multiple items for a daily/weekly update. Did you set your alert for daily or immediate updates?
