Is there a way to automatically change from View A to View B when a user opens a Sharepoint folder?

  2. Not directly since a folder is technically still the same list (whatever view you use for the list will be the same for each folder).

I'm sure there is a way through JavaScript however, since you can tell you're in a folder by the URL. The script would detect this, then redirect the page to the URL of the desired view.

I think I may have part of the script lying around to do this, I'll see what I can come up with...or if Paul (our resident JS guru) wants to chime in, he may also have something to do this with as well.

  3. If you edit or create a view, scroll down to the bottom of the page and have a look at the "Folders" section. It has some interesting behavior that may get you close to where you want to be.

  4. BobW,

Sorry for the delay on this, but I was able to find a solution. I have an article that should be showing up on the main site sometime in the next week that will have the details.

I'll add a link to the article here as soon as its up.
