Can I link a discussion/chatroom/blog to a Sharepoint wiki?

    Hi all,

    I am a newbie to Sharepoint 2007, so sorry if my questions are unclear or really elementary. :)

    I am trying to build a wiki for my team in a big company. I have full control over the Sharepoint team site but I have no access to the files in 12 HIVE or such.

    My questions are:

    1. Is there a built-in discussion group/chatroom functionality in Sharepoint 2007?
    2. If yes, is it possible to make a click-able link to the discussion group from inside the wiki? And how could this link be made?

    Welcome Lewyn.

    Yes, there is a discussion group functionality in SharePoint but it is very rudimentary. You will find it under your tracking lists in the MOSS environment.

    For the wiki to link to the discussion list, you will need to use the source view of the wiki page to embed a standard HTML link pointing to the specific discussion thread of interest.
