Let me set the stage first. The documents needs to move across sites, the source and destination sites are in the same site collection

-Subsite 1
-- Child A
---Source
-Subsite 2
-- Child B
---Destination
* Templates/other documents are stored in a document library in our source site
* Task will be assigned to the user in the destination site to work on a document (which will have link to the template/document in the source library).
* I want the workflow to copy the document from source site and copy it to a set folder in document library in the destination site
* source file location, source file destination folder all will be metadata for the task

I am going to attempt doing this in the weekend, any pointers and help would be greatly appreciated.
