Users running Word 2003 need to collaborate on documents they access via a DVWP which currently provides a hyperlink to the document's URL Path.
I run Word 2007, so for me the doc opens just fine and I can edit, save etc. every easily. For them it's not so easy.
They do not want to have the "local drafts folder" option or anything like that. Just be able to know that on click, they are opening the doc and can easily see the options to check in/out, edit etc.
Is there any way in the DVWP to enable the "Edit in <application>" drop-down option that you see in the source library edit menu next to each item's name? Or some other way to configure the DVWP that will allow Word 2003 users to know specifically that "I am now opening this document so I can edit it."??
(FYI, We have to use the DVWP here, cannot use the traditional list view web part.)
Thanks!!
