Greetings...just registered. I have about 2 weeks experience with Sharepoint so bear with me.

I am customizing the Call Center template for Sharepoint 2007 (Office Project Web Access). Within it, there are drop-down fields such as STATUS (Initiated, Resolved, Closed, etc) and I want to change and add more STATUS defs.

    I have drilled down to:

    c$\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\Resources\hlpdsk.resx

and altered the 4 SRStatus_Choice Options to the values I want them to say. I also modified the schema.resx member to include more SRSTATUS_Choice(s). I saved, then restarted IIS, but the changes do not show up in the Call Center template. Is there something further I need to do? I haven't bounced the server, but did try and restart the SHAREPOINT services. No luck.

FYI, we do not have Sharepoint Designer.

    Thanks in advance,

    ~Steven

  2. I'm not familiar with that template but most dropdowns in SP are created one of two ways: another list or a choice field. Choice fields store their options in the field definition (either in the list or the site column).

I'm guessing that Status is a choice field. Go to the List Settings and click on the Status Field. If it's a choice field, that's where you change the options.

Thanks for the reply. The strange thing is the default dropdowns appear to be reserved and can't be changed via the panels. Google references talk about editting the hlpdsk.resx file, but that's not working either. It did do a workaround. You do have the option of "hiding" those dropdowns, so I just created new ones as I wanted and applied those. For example, I chose "hidden" for STATUS and created REQUEST STATUS with the dropdown options I wanted.
