    Afternoon

I have a lookup column in my sharepoint list that I also want to reference in a caluclated column - the only issue is that Sharepoint does not bring a lookup column into a list of available columns. This has always been a pain, but thought I would ask to see if there is a workaround.

  2. You might be able to move the value using workflow. If not, you'd have to do the "calculation" on render--which means either making a data view web part with the calc using XSL or use JavaScript to do the calculation to a OOB web part.

Do you have SPD? Any experience making DVWPs?

    Hi Paul

I have SPD, but am only using WSS 3.0 - i dont think I have access to DVWPs.

  4. SharePoint Designer is free now, as of a couple of weeks ago. So, if you didn't have access to use it before, now you do. You can use it with WSS and/or MOSS. See my blog for a couple of DVWP solutions.

Laura -- for some of us -- does not matter if SharePoint Designer is free. We are not "free" to use it. And there is nothing we can do that will change corporate stance on the issue.
