Linked Item with edit menu

    I have created a custom content type for a contact list and I would like to set up one of the columns as "linked to item with edit menu". Would like the user to be able to click directing on the Full name or department type. I do not want to create another column for the OTB edit column. How do go about enabling this linked to item with edit menu option? thank you
