paul, i have the same requirement as ptrrssll, and i don't see any way in the site user web part to tell who is online at the moment. have i missed something, or is there a non-ootb web part out there?

  4. I sort of thought that web part did what it said it did. My mistake! (although there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation for why it doesn't work). I checked the rendered code and the status icon is supposed to be there but maybe only if you have Communicator.

Other than the Office Communicator web parts, I'd have to look at hacking the Colleague Tracker or something. I'll take a look at this this weekend.

  5. Paul,
From what I remember, if you have messenger installed on the client-machine (Msn Messenger, Live messenger), it will display the status icons (Communicator is not needed for that part). User's who dont have messenger installed (and in a non-communicator environment) will not see the status icons.

  6. Hi Guys,
Thanks for your ideas. In my environment, people don't generally run messenger clients. I figured there was a session table somewhere I could query, that showed when the sessions started. I've looked at the schema but couldn't see it, maybe I missed it, or there is an API I still haven't found documentation for. At any rate, I'm still stumped, so back to the experts.
