    Good Morning,

When I check out a document using WSS I expect that I will be prompted to save to a local drafts folder on my local computer. I am not seeing the prompt and I see no folder as such. What am I doing wrong? I see check-out being very tough to manage without that folder being available.

  2. Checking out the file just puts a block on others from checking it out or checking it in. If you open the file after checking it out, and you use NTLM authentication, you should just get a temp file on your hard drive as you open the document in the client app. Saving the document then saves it back to WSS with an option to check in or not.
