Not sure about this. We are developing a SharePoint application for Banking. I have a Check Library that has about 114K records. I have a KPI that was going to sum the checks by Branch and I get an error that I believe says our Server is out of Memory. TaskManager shows the SQL using a LOT of memory (over 1.6 MB) just for my KPI ! Is this possible?

Rich,
SharePoint is not the most efficient at handling a large number of records, especially when performing calculations. You may be better served with the use of SQL Analysis Services and Excel Services. However, this takes the application from the realm of SharePoint End Users and places it in the hands of developers.
