I would like to know if the preview pane technique that you created can function like a tool tip window when you hover over a list item or calendar entry. So instead of the item data displayed in the fixed location of the preview pane area it will would display near the item in the list like a tool tip.

  2. Don't use the preview pane for doing this, use the loadTip.dwp and you'll get what you are looking for. -- Mark

  4. It is provided as part of the "Become Your Company's SharePoint SuperStar!" workshop. Have you taken the workshop? If not, send me your email address and I'll put you on the waiting list. We'll be running another session soon. -- Mark

  5. Out-of-box, here's what you can do. On your list, create a new view. In the "Style" section of the view, pick the Preview Pane style.
There, now you have your list with a preview of doc info when you hover over each document!
