   Hi,

   I know this is out there somewhere, and I believe I heard that Bob Mixon chooses the Publishing site over the others -- but can't find it / or any discussion about pros and cons.

   We had to start our site all over again and have a choice between the base of a team site of the base of a publishing site -- for a site collection.

   Since I've gathered through other research that you can't save a site as a template with the publishing feature turned on -- a further question is if you have the site as a whole based on the Publishing Site format -- can you then save a site as a template?

   I use either blank or Team site for all of my sites (ignoring blog atm). You can always turn on the publishing features later but the publishing site has a totally different design and I think it makes it harder to brand since most of the branding documentation is based on the other layouts.
