Hello!
I'm definitely stumped! I have a document library that doesn't have Explorer View. I'm not sure if Explorer view existed and was deleted, or if this site was migrated from a previous version of SharePoint that didn't support Explorer View (I've only been around for 2007). Any ideas on how to recreate Explorer View on a document library?
Thanks for your help!

Are you using Vista per chance?

No, we're all on XP Pro. I'm a superadmin, and I can't see Explorer View in that particular document library either. We have Explorer View in almost all other document libraries, and it's not something we've turned off at a server level.

Lynley,
When you go to the "Create View" screen (Settings > Create View), do you see the option to "Start from a view template" (last option)? If so, you should also see "Explorer View" listed directly beneath this which will allow you to create a new explorer view.
If not, you may have to recreate the library in order to have the view.
Are you working in MOSS or just WSS? If MOSS, then you should be able to use the "Manage Content and Structure" option to move your documents to the new library after you create it. If just WSS, your options will be limited, but you may still be able to view the library contents through an explorer interface (in order to drag and drop them to the new library) by going to "Actions > Open With Windows Explorer" to open the library via a network share (this is a "folder view" stored locally on your computer).
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Dessie - we used the "Open with Windows Explorer" option, and it worked fine. Thanks to everyone for their input!
