In a document library for one of our projects, there are hundreds of "folders" and each contains several files, resulting in nearly 10,000 files in a single document library. No content types are being used on this site. I have two questions:
1. Search is not working for this library. Even searching for a known item gives no results. Is it possible to fix this by creating a column index for "Title" column? Or any other way, for that matter?
2. How do other SharePoint admins/architects/etc. manage lists with thousands of items? Is there a way to fix the existing doc library or should it be split up?
Any guidance is appreciated.
