Sorting Subfolders in Links Library

VERY, long story short – I am creating a links list. Within the links list will be subfolders representing the different states in which my company does business. I have absolutely no problem creating the subfolders, however, I cannot get the sub-folders to sort alphabetically. Do I have to delete them and re-enter them alphabetically? Thanks.

(FYI - I am currently using a "vanilla" version of SharePoint 2007 and do not have access to SharePoint Designer.)

  2. If you are talking about a web part on the page, you may need to modify the web part view to sort by URL. This is done by editing the web part and changing the default view.

If you are talking about the list itself, you will want to create a new view and sort by the URL column. This is done after navigating to the links list and then selecting Settings > New View.

I had previously tried creating a new view and sorting by ULR, but it did not work.

I mentioned this to someone else today, and she mentioned that several weeks ago, our company had some kind of glitch with sorting, but that problem has since been fixed. I am going to check with our SharePoint admin to see if the fix applied only to the documents and lists libraries but somehow did not include subfolders. That is the only thing I can think of. Even when you hover over the ULF drop down and it allows you to sort ascending or decsending, that function does not work.
