  1. Trying to use survey for suggestion box. Want users to only see their own suggestions. Want executives to be alerted when new suggestion is created. When I attempt an alert for executives, error received that alerts can't be used if users can only see their own items. What permissions are needed for 1) users and 2) executives?

  2. Pat - Add the selected execs to the "Owners" group of the survey. I think you'll get what you are looking for. -- Mark

  3. Tried this. I really didn't want to give execs "owners" permissions as I didn't want them to be able to delete suggestions. But, if there's no other option, I can live with it. So the new issue is sending alerts. Users shouldn't be able to see all suggestions - only their own. When I choose that setting, I get the error, "You cannot create alerts for lists for which users can only read their own items." Suggestions?

  4. You might setup a workflow that does the same thing the alert would do. Do you have SPD?

  5. Pat - Setup a new permission group that duplicates 'Owner' permission and remove the ability to edit items. -- Mark
