Too many names in Assign To field on Task List

    Background:
I have created a task list to track help requests submitted to my team. I added my team member names by going to site settings > manage users. Then I went to site setting > site administration > Anonymous Access, and selected YES for All Authenticated Users. Now when I go back to manage users, I see NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users on the list. Now other users who aren’t named on the access list can still add an item to the list, and send a request to my team. So this is good.

    Problem:
When I assign work using the Assigned To field, that list is cluttered with too many names. The list has the names of all my team members from the manage user list. The problem is each time someone from the NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users submits a new request, their name is added in the Assigned To field also. Ideally, I want to see just the names of my team members. Is there a way to limit the names that appear in the Assigned To list?

  2. Home > Tasks > Settings > Edit Column
    Change Column: Tasks

Edit the AssignedTo column in your Task list.

    Change "Choose from:
    All Users"
    To:
    SharePoint Group: <Yourteam>
