User Input into a Dataview Webpart

    OK. I've managed to turn a sharepoint list in to an XSLT Dataview on a web part page.

    I know I can put a Text Filter Web Part on the page to pass a filter value.

    But how do I pass a text value to the dataview <i> as a parameter? </i>

    Create a parameter on the Dataview, and then set the filter on the dataview to use that parameter. Very powerful.

    I accomplished this using the Form View Web Part, and SPD.
