    Many thanks for yoyr help!!!

We recently had a very serious problem hundreds where records were corrupted. A few users while in a 'Standard View' of a list changed values for for a specific row for what was a lookup column. In a standard view the data format for a lookup column is a link that leads back to the reference list. This was the problem because users thought they were changing the value for a specicic record but what they were actually doing was changing the lookup reference, which changed every record in the list that used that reference!!!! This happened several times plus several rows in the reference list were changed to the same name. Not to mention dropdowns may now have 3 matching values. Pain-- Lots of pain! Backups are once per day, point in time and so were of limited use.

The ability to report against the version history information would have been a very valuable tool. I would like to be able to do something like this.
Show only the history for column X
Between date a and date b
Where the previous value for column X was 'ZZ'
How can I produce a report like this. If it cannot be done in sharepoint do you know what DB tables are used to store this information?

    Pete
