    Has anyone needed to use a workflow across site collections. I have a list, and if someone changes a field, I want a workflow to trigger and move the ticket over to another list on another site in a different site collection. I hope that makes sense, if not, please ask questions, I really need to work this out. Thanks for any info ahead of time!

    SharePoint workflows are limited to a single list or site. The only way to do cross site (collections) is to use web services from your workflow. We did various things with web services, built-in and custom ones.

    Thanks for the response; I was wondering though if you could get into it a little more/give a little more detail on the 'how to' use the web services from the workflow as I have never done that. Thanks for your time and input.

    I'm almost certain there's a CodePlex project that allows this. I don't recall the name but a quick search should turn it up.

    You'll need administrative access to your server to install, so is beyond what this site will typically recommend. I loaded it and it gives me cross site access to lists and libraries for simple workflow tasks. Just what I needed, and maybe you too!
