WSS3.0 - Without a KPI, Use Excel?

    Hi:
    Without having SP2007 and not having the KPI web part, is it possible to link a list to Excel, crunch and display the summary list numbers, and then display the Excel table or chart in a web part? If yes, can it be refreshed easily?

    @cepes: Unfortunately no. You'll also need Excel Services to display tables/charts in web parts. There are other business intelligence packages if you're not wanting to go full-fledged MOSS.
