I’ve had about a half dozen requests in the past could days to schedule the Create a Master Calendar in SharePoint live online workshop. Ok, you’ve got it: Friday, May 1 at 1:00pm EST.

If you are a regular follower of this site, you know that I have a high regard for Christophe’s No Deployment Solutions at Path to SharePoint. I use his solutions in the live online workshops, especially when it comes to color coding lists and calendars.

This screencast is a followup to that article, show the steps and techniques he used for creating the calendar.

After watching Mark Miller’s Screen-Cast, Color Code a SharePoint Calendar, I realized this was the perfect solution for transforming a payroll schedule on an Excel spreadsheet into a SharePoint Calendar to make it more visually appealing and user-friendly.

We have just completed the Create a Master Calendar workshop and will be using this space for feedback for the people who attend. I think the big take away from the workshop is the need to manage content and metadata structure through the use of content types. The LyteBox is cool, but content types is what really gets the job done.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow’s live online workshop on how to Create a Master Calendar in SharePoint starts at 1:00pm, EST. If you’ve been looking for a way to consolidate mutiple calendars in CSS or MOSS, this might be a solution for you.

I will be speaking at SharePoint Saturday in New York City at the end of this week. Everyone had a great time in Virginia Beach last month for the first session, so we are hoping to carry the same energy over into the New York session.
