Laura Rogers and I will be delivering the second live online session of “Excel and SharePoint: I didn’t know you could do that!”. Based upon feed back from the first session, we have removed the two basic modules and updated the content to include using Excel to help create formulas for calculated columns and a deep dive into the tool panel within the datasheet view.

“Is there a way to automatically change from View A to View B when a user opens a SharePoint folder?” Normally, I’d say “Unfortunately, the answer is No” since folders are part of the list and will always use whatever Views have been setup for the list itself (no separation in “Default” view between folders – they all will use the same), but after reading this question, I decided to take on the problem to see what (if anything) could be done to get around this.

Exposing the Event content type

For some reason, by default the Event content type is not exposed as a parent content type.
This means that it is not available to be used to create children. We handled this problem in the Create a Master Calendar in SharePoint workshop last week.
