As with SharePoint 2007, templates are a great way to get started in crafting your own SharePoint 2010 design. I’ve created a starter master page that I’ve been using, which includes a clean and formatted master page and comments to let you know what each SharePoint control actually does.

Eric Alexander is a contributing author at EndUserSharePoint.com as well as a moderator on Stump the Panel. We were going to post his article on the work he has done with the Employee Training Template, but have decided to point directly to his site so that you can get the latest updates as he continues to tweak the templates.

I gave a talk on my MindManager templates at the Microsoft building in New York City yesterday. I recorded the entire session. This will give you a pretty good idea of how the templates are structured and how you might consider using them.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be at the Microsoft building on 6th Ave, talking about the Mind Manager Templates I have created for SharePoint.

At 1:00pm EST today, I’m be delivering a one and a half hour, live online workshop for using MindManager Templates with SharePoint. This is a set of templates I’ve been working on for the past couple months that get your site design from 0 to 60 in less than five minutes.

Mike Fortgens twittered me on a couple of things he needs clarified when using the Mind Manager Templates for SharePoint. This is a 4 minute demo to show how you can utilize the Mind Map that was made available in this week’s newsletter to create your own, custom templates.

I have spent the past month working on the creation of Mind Map templates for the major architectural components in SharePoint. As I have shown them to people, there has been tremendous excitement about using them for developing site plans during brainstorming sessions.

I spent the weekend working out the permission level templates for the Mind Manager Templates for SharePoint project. Here’s a quick three minute screencast. As always, your feedback will be very helpful as I continue to expand on this project.
