In this segment, I’ll document how I created a basic respository to hold the maps. Then, in the next installment, I’ll demonstrate how to integrate the SharePoint Map Repository into a training tracker in SharePoint.

I’ve used Google Maps for years to plot driving directions, but I’ve never thought of using it for running routes. That left the door wide open for me to create my own alternative in SharePoint.

Next week I’ll be running a series of workshops, Train the Trainer, that will give the participants resources, slidedecks and training on how to become an in-house SharePoint trainer. This 5 part series of EUSP Live Online Workshops runs for five days, 2 hours per day.

I got a question in from Keith this afternoon and it kind of threw me. Here’s the question and I’ll follow with my response:

The Microsoft Office Online Training crew is already busy getting the pieces together to make it easier for SharePoint End Users to get a handle on what’s coming. They have just release a new training session, Make the Switch to the New SharePoint 2010 User Interface, free online.

Christophe has updated the script to fix a couple of little glitches. You can find the updated resources at Path to SharePoint, HTML Calculated Column: minor update… and some advice.

I really didn’t realize how booked my schedule had become until we tried to schedule a chunk of time. Between speaking at SharePoint Saturdays, doing live online training, in-person training and speaking at SharePoint Conferences, it’s becoming a pretty hectic… good hectic, mind you, but still hectic.

The site has over 500 SharePoint products and services listed. Each item has a description and an “Add New Review” button, giving the community the ability to comment and review each of the items.

I’m going to continue from yesterday’s overview with a drilldown of how I created a customized list to handle the display of external video content. The problem we are trying to resolve is how to manage access to external video content that is not stored in SharePoint.

I am a SharePoint end-user training designer, developer, and teacher working for the provincial government of Ontario in Canada, and I find both the demand for and supply of strictly end-user training for SharePoint is relatively small compared to how important I FEEL the need is. This feeling of mine is based on trying to roll out SharePoint in our large organization. I’d appreciate any comments you might have for me
