We are trying out SharePoint through Rackspace can we use color coding with their Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0.?
We would like to use something similar to the Label field in Outlook

    Thank you

I’ve done everything above step by step and the color coding works. The only problem I’m having is the text is not centered. If I enter vacation for three days it’s color coded but the text is left justified over the three days. How can I fix this?

    Thanks,

    Joel

    • Joel,

You may need to add ALIGN=”CENTER” to your DIV tag on the your calculated Display field.

Let me know if that doesn’t work and we’ll jump over to Stump the Panel so you can share the code with me that you’re getting.

      Blessings,
      Jim Bob

        Jim Bob,

That’s what I thought but I don’t know how to add it. Here is the display code that I’m using.

        =” “&Title&”"

Can you tell me where to add it?

        Thanks,

        Joel

    Jim Bob,

I tried to paste my code in but it didn’t work. How can I get it to you?

    Thanks,

    Jim,

If I want users to be able to click on the event and go to the actual item for more information such as “description”… How would you change the “Display” column code so users can click on the item (Title) and get there?

    Thanks,

    Jhonny Serrano

Also, I see that when I change from month view to week or day view, the color is gone and just show the “Display” column code. Any way to change this?
I went to edit the page and I still see my “Hidden” CEWP there so not sure what changes in the view that doesn’t make the script to work…
      Any ideas?

      thanks

  6. Joel says:

    Jim Bob,

    [=" "&Title&""]

  8. Christophe says:

Joel, there’s a formula generator on this page:
    http://sp2010.pathtosharepoint.com/SharePoint-User-Toolkit/Pages/Color-Coding-Calendar-List.aspx

It includes the option to have the text centered.

  9. Joel says:

    Jim Bob,

I found what I needed on the formula generator page. It works great now man and thanks for all your help.

    Joel

  10. Awesome, Joel! Glad to hear it.

    Thanks, Christophe!

    Jim Bob,

I have one problem maybe you can help me with. Partial days such as 2 to 6 will not color code. Is there something I can change in the code from Christophe that is in my content editor webpart?

    Thanks,

    Joel
