I really like your advise here. I tried the windows live writer and it works great thanks. Is there a way to easily modify the background color or add back ground images to a sharepoint blog?

  2. Lee Reed says:

Thanks, Richard. The background is a function of the template that is being used by the SharePoint blog. Live Writer inherits that background and posts the info back to the SP Blog with the blog’s settings.

That said, I believe you might be asking how the colors/background might be changed in the SharePoint MasterPage. To do that, you will need SharePoint Designer, some time and a lot of patience and trial and error to get what you want. (at least, that’s what I need).

If I have some time in the next two weeks I’ll create a video to show you how to modify the default.master page using Designer…..unless someone else reading this can share a link to an explanation on how to modify default.master using Designer.

Is it possible to show first few lines of the Blog post and than allow the user to click to get to full post rather than showing full post on Blog front page? much like announcements?
